Strap the trolley to your kayak, surfboard, windsurfer etc, then tie the end to a bit of wood on your pannier rack with some rope and you’re away. Simple but works very well. This is much better for cycling with than the typical trolleys available in kayak/sports shops which have cheap wheels with bushes and not bearings, and small fat tyres. They are good for walking a 100m across sand but bushes wear out and they are very inefficient when biking many kilometers to the water. These trolleys can be fitted with new 16” wheels ($110) or 2nd hand wheels off a 12” or 16” kids bike. Foam pads are included. You can get cam lock straps from hardware stores. They are available as wide or narrow trolleys. Wide ones suit double or sit on top kayaks, narrow ones are better for singles.
I can custom make a trailer with a long removable tow bar which costs around $350. They work well for shorter kayaks, but are a bit of a pain to store and are more ‘wobbly’ than the trolley.
